Well, it's been awhile since I updated this thing. So, what to say, what to say? For starters, obviously, I'm keeping my job at RCN. Yay! I was promoted to billing lead queu, which is basically the person the rep's call when they can't find the answer to something. It pays $2 more, which will even out for me considering I won't be getting commision anymore. That's okay, as long as I have a job and paycheck. Starting July 9th, I will begin my online courses at Art Institute online. I'm so excited! It's been such a long dream, and I am determined to not to screw this oppurtunity up.
Right now, with the massive exodus that occurred June 6th at the call center, we are dealing with high call volumnes and massive amounts of voluntary overtime. Some of my colleges have been frustrated, due to the lay offs, and the fact that the agents who are taking our place, can't seem to do their job right. It's a common problem, the agents leave as fast as they come in the door, so while you though you addressed a learning problem last week, your addressing it again, only this time to somebody else who just started. Before RCN started to outsource, they experienced the same problem, because their turn around for employee's suck.
I think that's a common problem with call centers, trying to retain their current employee's. Not alot of people choose this as a career choice, to them (and myself) it's just a job, it's a paycheck. So for some, their not putting in the hard work maybe only a third of the company is actually exerting. I like to think I put 110% of myself into what ever job I have, and I will admit, I wanted this job. No more fry cook for me, this job allows me the comfort of sitting down infront of a computer, looking through multiple files and databases, internet connection, a good paycheck.. It's hard to come by in these area's, to find something I like, while looking forward to the future.
Who knows, when I'm done with school, maybe I'll be designing RCN's newest ad campaign, or marketing strategy. Oh yeah, I'm going to school for this type of stuff, Graphic Design, Web Design, Commercial Art.
The credits are $407 a piece. Phew, thank god nothing is coming out of my pocket for the tuition, just the admission fee and price of books. I spent $50 alone on one pyschology book. YIPES! and that was USED! But still, I'm as happy as a clam.
Not to put my kids last, I purchased tickets to take them to the http://www.crayolafactory.com
Crayola Factory, it's a 90 minute drive, but I think a couple hours in that type of environment will be good for them. The following month, I'm going to try for Knoebels, which is free to get in, you just pay for the rides. Despite Chuck having his girlfriend, we've agreed to take the kids together to both places, as a sort of family outing.
Don't let me get started with the situation with Chuck.
Yes, he has a girlfriend, but I don't know how many times he's grabbed my ass, or made some lude remark, or told me how 'confused' he is. I know it's a ploy to try to get in my pants. I'm not stupid. I just wish he didn't have to be such a pig sometimes, atleast for our kids sake. I don't mind being his friend, but that's it, that's all I'd care to handle considering his other preoccupation.
Well, my break is up, Taa!
